Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
  • Airport pick-up and welcome briefing by Roots & Peaks.
  • Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel with dinner.
  • Hike through the lush rainforest zone.
  • Distance: 10km (~6 hours).
  • Transition to moorland landscapes with stunning vistas.
  • Distance: 5km (~5 hours).
  • Ascend to 4,600m at Lava Tower before descending to Barranco for acclimatization.
  • Distance: 10km (~7 hours).
  • Navigate the Barranco Wall and trek through alpine terrain.
  • Distance: 5km (~4 hours).
  • Short but steep trek to Barafu Camp, the staging point for summit night.
  • Distance: 4km (~3 hours).
  • Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak for sunrise.
  • Descend to Mweka Camp for well-earned rest.
  • Distance: 15km (~12-14 hours).
  • Final descent through the rainforest.
  • Farewell lunch and transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
